On one accasion when Mother Teresa was entering Israel, the authorities asked the usual question, “Do you have any weapons to declare?” She replied, “Only my prayer books.”
What a great way to regard prayer! Not talking to ourselves, not just a quiet devotional exercise to enrich my personal relatioship with God, but war. We are engaging with God in a life-and-death battle with enemy spirit powers.
Pray fervently and boldly. It is a weapon that is effective in knocking down enemy strongholds.

I’m Back!
April 29, 2008

After a long delay, for several reasons, I am ready to post again.
I have finished my ministry as senior pastor of Manor Church, am now on a two-month leave of absence, and will begin a new job on June 1, working for Brethren in Christ World Missions. My work will have two parts: setting up Global Impact Teams (missions promotion teams) in six conferences across North America, and serving as Spiritual Director and Strategy Coordinator for our missionary team in London. The London ministry will require that my wife JoLene and I live in London for two weeks at a time every two months.
Peace to all who read this blog.
