London Journal – Monday, March 23, 2009

Just a few more lines.

We went to Heathrow Airport, Terminal 5, which is the newest terminal. We had breakfast at The Giraffe restaurant, which has a sculpture of three life-size giraffes in the center of the room.

JoLene walked through Harrods store and saw a purse for 375 British pounds, or $525. I smiled as I thought about how it would look if this expense were to show up on our business expense sheet. NO, she did not buy the purse.

At this time the British pound is equal to $1.40, which is an exchange rate far more favorable to Americans than the rate when we first went to London in February 2008.

On the plane ride home I finished reading Walk in the Light and Twenty-three Tales by Leo Tolstoy. More about that in a future blog.

On this trip JoLene read, among other things, The Secret Things of God by Henry Cloud.

And so we are home again. Thanks for following our adventures and for praying for us. We felt that we made major progress in our contacts and in the issues we dealt with.

Our next trip abroad will be in May.

Peace to all.
