London Journal – Wednesday, April 29,2009

During the past two weeks I have been reading the Letter to the Hebrews.

Today I was impressed with this statement from chapter 12, verse 28:
Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe….

In previous blogs I have mentioned Roundwood Park, where we often walk. Already some of the flower beds are in full bloom.

And the gazebo is attractive.

In mid-morning we met with the London team at a Portuguese coffee shop for late breakfast and conversation. Wide-ranging conversation, as you might imagine. Since Jay is out of country for studies and speaking appointments, I was the only male in the group. But you will be relieved to know that I suffered only minimal abuse!

Then we went to the apartment of one of the team, for more in-depth conversation for spiritual care and administrative review.

Then off to Costa Coffee shop to meet with another team member for the same purposes as listed above. You could well be thinking, “They sure do go to coffee shops often!” And you would be right. Because the team members live in different areas, and because our hotel has no lobby, we have to be creative in finding places to meet.

In the evening, office work.

We also talked by way of Skype with Melanie and Julio in Guatemala. Their flight went well, and they arrived safely at the home of Julio’s parents, where they will stay for a few weeks until they get furniture for their apartment. To those of you who knew about their trip and prayed for them, thank you so much for your love and prayers.

The next three days will be vacation time for us. We will visit a few sites in London and take at least one trip out of town. I will post blogs if I have time.
