Kansas Trip Journal 3

From Sunday, July 5, through Friday, July 10, we made many contacts for Brethren in Christ World Missions.

There are seven Brethren in Christ churches in KS, all of them in this central area. We hosted a breakfast meeting for these pastors; all but one were able to attend. I gave them information about missions resources that the Missions Office makes available and welcomed their feedback. A stimulating time of conversation.

We met with a couple who support JoLene and me in our ministry and met with many others to inform them of what we are doing and of the scope of BIC Missions.

On Friday we went to Herington to talk with Deb Wiles who is the bivocational pastor of our Rock Island Church. Her other job is that of school teacher and coach, but I forget what sport she coaches!

Here is Zion Church, where I served as pastor for six years – my first assignment after I finished seminary training.

At each church I visit it is heartening to learn of the ways the people are involved in local outreach as well as world missions.
