Trip to Guatemala – Part 1

Here we are in the city of Quetzaltenango, also known as Xela (Shay-lah), the place where our daughter Melanie and her family lives.

We arrived in Guatemala on Friday, August 14. Melanie and family met us and took us to the tourist town of Antigua (it’s on the way to Xela) to look around today and tomorrow. We stayed at a very nice bed and breakfast hotel and walked several blocks in several directions to see the major sights. Here are a few of them.



The above photo is of a cathedral on the main plaza of the city. The white building blends into the sky to make a less than ideal image. Here is same cathedral at night.
