Here in London

Friday, December 17, 2010

Here I am in London. I arrived on Tuesday with Chris Sharp, the Executive Director of Brethren in Christ World Missions. We have rooms at the Hollingbury Hotel in Harlesden, the place where I usually stay.

We are here for one week, to work on review and planning with our team of missionaries. Three of the team members were home in North America for several months for home ministry and for the resolution of visa complications. The three have now returned, so this is a good time for review and planning for the future.

Speaking of visas, our organization in U.K. now has approval to grant certificates that allow our workers to apply for and receive visas as ministers of religion, so it appears that our visa difficulties are now behind us.

For several reasons JoLene stayed home this trip.

The days are filled from early to late with appointments and meetings, except that today has some time in the morning and afternoon to work on emails and other office projects.

At noon today we had a beautiful and brief snow storm. By 1:30 the sun came out.

Thanks for your prayers.

  1. Thank-you for the update. Praying for you, Chris, and the work in London.

  2. Perhaps you and Chris may have an opportunity to indulge in/ share in some Bassetts Allsorts? This licorice-based candy is mentioned as one of the Christmas items in Dylan Thomas A Child’s Christmas in Wales. I’m quite sure Sainsburys or other merchants would carry Allsorts.

    • Unfortunately, our full schedule did not allow us to check out this sweet. Perhaps next time! I will try to have a Merry Christmas anyway. (Smile)
