Some homes are built of stones placed between poles. Then sometimes the walls are covered with mud, providing good protection from the heat.

The Grand Hotel was grand in the past but was neglected and abandoned by its owners some years ago, so people have moved in and live there the best they can.

There are also many modern, well-kept buildings in Beira, but at the moment I do not have photos of them.
